We will pass through Llangollen, the starting station for the famous and still fully-functional steam railway along with many other "claim to fames". You get a unique chance to experience the Pontcysyllte Canal Aqueduct, built by Sir Thomas Telford in 1795 and still taking canal barges across the valley high above the ground. We'll exploit the vehicle size by navigating some of the most scenic and "Welsh" roads available, taking in as much of those glorious views on offer. |
Explore Betws-Y-Coed, North Wales' most popular inland resort where the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, the Llugwy, the Lledr and the Machno. Weather permitting, we may navigate Ffestiniog, a paradise for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, ramblers and climbers alike. Then comes that historic World famous spectacular drive along the coast road and up the Great Orme at Llandudno, a famous Welsh holiday resort attracting many English and International visitors to it's unique charm and charisma. |
You will see many of the glorious wonders that North Wales is proud to offer, including Eryri, or better known as the Snowdonia National Park, which is the second largest National park in England and Wales. The town of Conwy, constructed by the English monarch Edward I between 1283 and 1289 as one of the key fortresses in his 'iron ring' of castles to contain the Welsh, was built to prompt such a humbling reaction with its fabulous wall circuit of over 3/4 mile long and guarded by no less than 22 towers. It is renowned one of the finest in the World. |
Conwy Castle is a gritty, dark-stoned fortress which has the rare ability to evoke an authentic medieval atmosphere. The first time that you catch sight of the castle you'll know you are in the presence of a historic site which still casts a powerful spell. Finally, don't forget all those other highlights you are likely to see on route, including Ruthin Gaol (jail and prison), Valle Crucis Abbey, Rug Chapel, Llangar Church, Trefriw Woollen Mill, the Riverside Chocolate House ...to name oh but a few! |
